Thales Above Water Systems Business Line (AWS BL) provides design, delivery and through-lifesupport for a comprehensive set of maritime warfare capabilities, involving ship repair, platform upgrades and ancillary services.
The Role:
Opportunity for a motivated Procurement and Subcontracts Coordinator to join our team based at Garden Island. This critical role involves managing subcontractors to deliver key program requirements, ensuring value for money, quality, and on-time delivery, while meeting contractual obligations. You will work closely with stakeholders, subcontractors, and subject matter experts to optimise solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Request for Pricing (RFP) Management: Oversee the RFP process, including defining the scope of work, selecting subcontractors, and facilitating evaluations.
Task Allocation: Assign tasks to subcontractors to ensure value for money, contractual compliance, and capacity management across programs.
Vendor Performance Management: Manage subcontractor performance, build on strengths, address performance issues, and foster collaborative relationships.
Contract Negotiations: Coordinate with AWS PPM and Procurement Category Buyers to negotiate and maintain subcontractor agreements and contractual terms.
Subcontractor Outcomes Coordination: Oversee warranty management, dispute resolution, and other subcontractor outcomes with the program team.
About You:
Qualifications: Procurement or Project Management qualifications (or equivalent). Electronics or Mechanical Trade/Technical qualifications are desirable.
Commercial Contracts Experience: Proven experience in working with commercial contracts and general terms and conditions.
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate, challenge suppliers, and drive favorable outcomes.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues across various platforms.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage projects, and influence decisions.
Passion & Resilience: A proactive and energetic approach to achieving goals, even under challenging circumstances.
