Tax Analyst
We are currently seeking to recruit a Tax Analyst. The purpose of this position is to carry out and control the company's IVA and Income TAX activities in accordance with the local law and procedures, in observance of Embraer Group standards and the procedures in force.
The role is based in Portugal.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Carrying out and controlling the company’s tax activities in order to prepare tax information, draw up reports and ensure compliance with tax obligations.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and tax obligations, guaranteeing the accuracy of tax reports and compliance with dates;
- Ensuring that the company IVA and income tax are adapted to the local rules;
- Drawing up discrepancy reports and ensuring their rectification;
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual IVA returns where applicable;
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax returns where applicable;
- Ensure the integrity of the IVA and income tax statements of subsidiaries, branches, or affiliated companies.
- Ensure that the existing parameterizations in the companies' ERP are in line with local practices;
- Keeping up to date with local legislation and providing adequate communication of changes to management areas and other teams when necessary;
- Ensuring the correct accounting for the purchase of materials, assets, and services, in order to guarantee that the accounting and fiscal part correctly reflects local practices and complies with applicable legislation.
- Assure that the reverse charge mechanism is being correctly applied to company operations;
- Ensure the correct treatment of transactions for income tax purposes;
- Analyzing deductibility in the income tax process;
- Monitoring the company's mailbox with the local tax authorities;
- Be diligent and maintain 'professional skepticism' when performing and supervising the activities and processes under their responsibility, including but not limited to:
(i) maintaining focus and attention to the accuracy and validity of the data under analysis,
(ii) requesting additional documents when necessary to carry out these analyses,
(iii) identifying, communicating, escalating and assisting in the resolution of possible risk situations ("red flags") and/or problems related to compliance with the Company's policies and procedures. Diligence and 'professional skepticism' must be applied even if there are reviews and approvals prior to the analysis being carried out;
- In addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, the role must fulfil other, unspecified fiscal responsibilities necessary for the pursuit of the objectives of the work team and/or the organization.
Profile of the Suitable Candidate:
- Minimum five years’ experience performing IVA and INCOME TAX duties;
- Pre-Bologna Degree or Integrated master’s degree in law, Accounting, or management (or in a similar area)
- Strong math and organizational skills;
- Enjoy technical IVA and INCOME TAX subjects;
- Relevant knowledge of IRS and international taxation;
- Communicative and approachable;
- Professional approach with great attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a team within an international environment;
- Fluent in English is mandatory, ability to speak Portuguese or any other European language is of great advantage;
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office;
- SAP ERP system skills.
