YOUR TASKS
Working Location : Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong
Reporting to the Senior Director, Aviation Programs, Asia Pacific, the incumbent is responsible for managing and optimizing network efficiency through the following key aspects:
- Manage programs/projects relating to Network efficiency and performance; responsible for the programs/projects producing the expected results and benefits.
- Plan and deliver Airside trainings relating to Network safety, efficiency and performance.
- Implement additions or changes to the dedicated air Network, including provision of field support during start up periods.
- Support safe & compliant airside operations whether performed by DHL or third parties.
- Provide functional leadership, technical expertise and on-the-ground support in relation to Aviation matters.
The key deliverables of this role include:
DHL Airside Operations:
- Monitor compliance with relevant aspects of AGOM (previously called GSAM) within the limited scope of DHL Airside Operations in Asia Pacific region
- Plan & deliver ULD Build Up training to ensure compliance with AGOM requirements and to ensure AP Hubs and GTWs are capable of performing to the highest standards of safety and best practice in ULD Build Up.
- Provide expertise in the use of relevant DHL systems and applications such as NMIV, SABLE, etc.
- Provide input to global to assist the design, development and deployment of the NCG suite of applications.
Third Party Airside Operations:
- Develop new / Review existing MOPs and assess performance to ensure DHL benefits from industry-leading standards of handling for all dedicated Network flights.
- Schedule and participate in monthly / regular meetings with key airline partners for the purpose of assessing performance, resolving operational issues and creating a forum for general dialogue.
- Participate in meetings with Ramp / Ground Handling Agents, Airport Operators to represent DHL’s interests and resolve operational issues.
- Provide field support as necessary.
Network Efficiency Improvement Initiatives:
- Analyse and Conduct initiatives to improve Network efficiency or address unfavourable trends in measures of Network efficiency (KPIs e.g. WLF, OTP, Density, Fuel Optimization, etc.)
- Develop and implement initiatives to increase ULD density / utilization / Fuel efficiency.
- Assist in development of tools, reports, systems and activities to achieve Network performance improvements.
Network Change Implementation:
- Lead the implementation of changes in the dedicated Air Network so that the changes are smoothly implemented and the intended benefits are realized as per BCAs and NCRs
- Develop implementation plans; set up MOP and co-ordinate the implementation team; monitor progress of preparations.
- Arrange reporting and monitoring of performance in the early start-up period.
- Provide field support as necessary.
YOUR PROFILE
- Tertiary education / university degree preferable
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Mandarin and other Asian languages an advantage
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in the industry of which at least 3 years in Network Control/ Hub & Gateway / Aviation environment
- With expert knowledge of Airside and Airline standards, including those relating to restricted commodities transportation, general cargo handling, aircraft loading and ramp operations.
- AP Country Operations experience is a big advantage
- Strong relationship skills and ability to create and maintain constructive as well as sustainable relationships with internal and external parties (e.g. colleagues, suppliers, joint venture partners, industry groups, competitors, governments, unions) and colleagues.Open to approaches that meet mutual goals.
