Principal Responsibilities and Authorities
- Strategic Planning and Scheduling:
- Drive resource utilization, efficiency, and productivity through strategic planning and dynamic gate scheduling.
- Formulate and cascade daily, weekly, and yearly induction/delivery plans.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Manage schedules for engine, module, and component-level maintenance activities.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) milestones and activate timely problem-solving in liaison with functional leaders.
- Balance priorities for customer inductions and deliveries while aligning with global business S&OP targets.
- Resource Management:
- Ensure the efficient allocation of skilled resources using gate management strategies.
- Deploy shift operations that consider human factor principles and fatigue management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with internal departments (Operations, Materials, Engineering, Quality) and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of workscopes.
- Maintain excellent relationships with customers and stakeholders to meet planned shop output.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive SQDCPI (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Inventory) metrics through daily management cadences.
- Identify areas for digital planning tools and implement process improvements.
- Team Leadership:
- Set individual PDR objectives, manage team performance, and coach the planning department staff.
- Foster accountability for achieving KPI targets and other business metrics.
Skills / Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s engineering degree or ICAO type II license.
Experience:
- 10+ years of engine Part 145 MRO operations and production planning experience.
- Minimum 5 years of team leadership experience.
- Expertise in MRO planning principles and SAP ERP systems.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with technical publications and complex problem-solving.
- Understanding and application of lean tools for operational efficiency.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage customer TAT delivery cadence effectively.
Decision-making Tools Reporting Interface
Operational Metrics:
- Monitor billable labor hours, productivity factors, and overall equipment effectiveness.
Digital Tools:
- Identify and execute implementation of digital planning tools for process enhancement.
Stakeholder Reporting:
- Maintain accurate gate tracker statuses and disseminate to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting Interface:
- Internal Stakeholders: Operations, Materials, Engineering, Quality teams.
- External Stakeholders: Customer representatives and business leadership.
