Database Administrator and Data Analyst6-month contract to hire (Hybrid work model)
Location: Manassas, VA - Candidates must be local to Manassas, VA (20109)
Pay rate is in the
$60 - $65/hr range.

- Database administration & performance tuning of Oracle ODAs
- Database administration of SQL Server in a VM environment
- Installation, maintenance and patching of Linux and Windows OS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL and DB2
- Maintenance of RAC and failover
- Provide database support for multiple COTS applications with production, test and development environments
- Establish, document and test database DR plans
- Familiarity with encryption, partitioning and performance tuning
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with ETL tools to develop Dashboards
- Willing to take on and learn additional application responsibilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years of database administration in an Oracle environment
- At least 2 years of database administration in a SQL Server environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems OR certification in either Oracle or SQL Server database administration
- Installing and upgrading the database server and application tool, patching Oracle, SQL and Linux OS
- Allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for the database system
- Enrolling users and maintaining system security
- Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreements
- Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
- Planning for backup and recovery of database information
- Maintaining archived data
- Backing up and restoring databases
- Contacting database vendor for technical support
- Managing and monitoring data replication
- Self-starter who will work independently
- A team player who enjoys supporting all team members
DESIRED SKILLS
- Generating various reports by querying from database as per need
- Knowledge of structured query language (SQL), PL/SQL/TSQL
- General understanding of storage technologies and networking
- General understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and failover of a database including Data Guard, AG, RAC, FCI
- Development and testing of Disaster Recovery Plans
- Experience in Developing Dashboards for Leadership Team.
