The Global Marketing Partnerships Lead will oversee the management & growth of strategic partnerships that align with the Aer Lingus brand to drive key business objectives, focusing on revenue generation. This role is centered on negotiating & sustaining mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance brand visibility, boost customer engagement, generate revenue, and support market expansion. A key component of the role involves supporting the airline's loyalty program. The Global Marketing Partnerships Lead will work closely with the brand & the loyalty teams to ensure that all partnerships reinforce our brand vision, support our loyalty strategies and enhance the customer experience, contributing to Aer Lingus’ long-term customer retention goals.
Partnership Development, Collaboration and Management:
Identify, negotiate, & manage strategic partnerships with airports, tourism boards, destination marketing organisations,& other relevant industry stakeholders. Build & maintain relationships with tourism boards and destination marketing organisations to co-promote key routes and travel experiences – with a full understanding of the return on investment (financial & time).
Closely align with the Performance Marketing team to ensure that demand-driving activity is integrated into the overall performance strategy & that it is being monitored & measured appropriately. This activity should receive the same level of scrutiny & attention as EI specific activity as it will ultimately contribute to the overall performance.
Develop partnership agreements that maximise mutual benefits, including brand visibility, joint marketing initiatives, & co-promotional opportunities. Leverage these partnerships to enhance the airline’s reach in key regions, aligning with seasonal promotions and destination-specific campaigns.
Serve as the main point of contact for all global partnerships, managing day-to-day communications, joint initiatives, & partnership performance evaluations.
Regularly review the performance of partnerships to ensure they deliver on agreed KPIs and support commercial objectives.
Airport Marketing Partnerships:
Coordinate marketing activities with partner airports, such as co-branded promotions, in-terminal advertising, & passenger experience enhancements to reinforce the Aer Lingus brand. Ensure airport partnerships contribute to increased traffic, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction in target markets. Evaluate the investment required for airport partnerships and only pursue opportunities where the expected return on investment (ROI) justifies the commitment, ensuring that all partnership activities align with broader business goals.
Marketing & Promotional Initiatives:
Lead the development of joint marketing initiatives with partners, including digital campaigns, in-terminal promotions, & co-branded content. Ensure that all marketing efforts align with the airline’s brand strategy & are effectively integrated into broader campaigns.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Revenue Management & Marketing, and network planning teams to align partnership opportunities with overall business goals. Support the loyalty team by identifying partnerships that complement loyalty offerings and contribute to customer retention. Provide insights into how partnerships can contribute to enhanced customer loyalty and retention.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
Track and report on the performance of all partnerships, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for improving partnership value and effectiveness. Working with the wider team, understand what value partnerships are contributing to the overall business performance and how this can flex to support objectives in short, medium and long term.
Present partnership performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting successes and areas for future opportunity.
Budget Management:
Manage the budget for partnership marketing initiatives, ensuring that all activities are cost-effective and within allocated financial resources.
Negotiate cost-sharing agreements with partners to optimise the return on marketing investments.
Market & Industry Analysis:
Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new partnership opportunities that can drive growth.
Conduct regular market research to understand the effectiveness of existing partnerships and explore potential new collaborations.
Development of New Opportunities:
This role will play a key role in the development of commercial opportunities on the airline’s digital platforms to include the website and blog.
6-8 years Marketing and/or Partnership management experience.
A business-related 3rd level qualification or relevant work experience.
Previous budget experience.
Strong analytical reasoning ability.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Eligible to live and work in the EU.
Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
Be in possession or be able to obtain an airside security pass.
