The Growth Strategist plays a pivotal role in driving Aer Lingus' growth and market share through a deep understanding of the aviation industry and internal performance metrics. They analyse strengths, pinpoint areas for improvement, and monitor external factors such as industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
By synthesising these insights, the growth strategist develops actionable strategies to support the optimisation of campaign targeting, channel performance, and other key areas. Collaborating across teams, they inform and help to implement initiatives aligned with business objectives such as revenue growth, market share, customer lifetime value, and campaign efficiency.
The Growth Strategist bridges data analysis with strategic execution, ensuring sustained growth and a competitive advantage for Aer Lingus.
Strategy Development: Create and implement data-driven strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and overall profitability across key markets.
Market Analysis: Analyse market trends, economic conditions, customer behaviour, and competitive landscapes to identify and leverage growth opportunities.
Revenue Optimization: Develop strategies to optimize revenue and improve financial performance, focusing on expanding market share and enhancing profitability.
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams and work alongside a Digital Performance Lead to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with broader business goals.
Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse performance metrics related to all marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations to drive bookings, revenue, and sustainable growth.
Expansion Initiatives: Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion and new route development, ensuring strategies align with the airline’s growth objectives.
Competitor Analysis: Monitor and assess competitor activities to benchmark performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions for competitive advantage.
Support in driving loyalty engagement and share of wallet.
Deep understanding of customer profile, segments and associated customer lifetime value, collaboration across teams to improve through data driven strategies and targeting lifecycle communications.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on strategic initiatives, performance metrics, and business impact to senior leadership, ensuring strategies are aligned with Aer Lingus’ commercial and business objectives.
Third level education in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience in a growth-focused role, such as a growth strategist, business analyst, or marketing strategist, preferably within the airline industry or a related sector.
Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis, with experience using analytical tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Google Analytics) to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive business growth, enhance profitability, and align with overall business objectives.
Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics, particularly within the airline or travel industry.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and strategic recommendations clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Collaboration: Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, finance, and operations, to achieve strategic goals.
Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on time.
Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with digital marketing channels and tools, though not directly responsible for campaign execution, to understand their impact on overall marketing performance.
Budget Management: Experience with budget management and financial analysis, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt strategies based on market changes, competitive pressures, and emerging opportunities.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Eligible to live and work in the EU.
Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
Be in possession or be able to obtain an airside security pass.
