Fitter Balancer
Full time- (3-shift pattern, mornings afternoons and nights, 37h/week)
Derby, fully site – based
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fitter Balancer within Rotatives UK and Compression.
Reporting to the Production Leader, using both drawings and technical instructions, Fitter / Balancers play a key role in ensuring components are correctly assembled and balanced, in order to control rotating forces on bearings and reduce engine vibrations.
Applying appropriate Health and Safety practice and maintaining a safe environment at all times is vital and working as part of an integrated team to achieving cell targets is critical to our success.
Working within a small team across three shifts you will be required to carry out both static and dynamic balancing across a wide range of engine products using simulated rotor tooling on both vertical and horizontal balancing machines.

What you will be doing:
The role incorporates interstage fitting of assemblies as well as bonding of weir seals.
Fitting techniques include interference fitting, swaging, riveting and general bench fitting across a broad spectrum of components. You will also:
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and regulations, maintaining a safe clean and tidy work area.
- Interpret Manufacturing drawings, technical instructions and written specifications.
- Deliver right first time quality for each operation.
- Work within an integrated team to achieve cell objectives.
- Quality check own work and complete relevant documentation accurately.

- A recognised Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent. *
