What Will You Be Doing?
Responsible for operational performance and all maintenance activities at assigned base, including ensuring the contract vendor or F9 station labor resources, tooling, equipment, and parts are available to complete the daily assigned work. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance to policy, procedures, training, and contractual performance management. Ensures all personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform the assigned tasks. Confirms operational coverage and availability of Frontier staffed oversight (Managers on duty) to support engagement requirements at the station level to assure KPIs are being met and achieved. This individual and team will coordinate activities between Station Operations, Flight Dispatch, Maintenance Control, and Inspection as required.
Essential Functions
- Provide continuous operational control, oversight and procedural guidance.
- Manage station performance, including safe and expedient resolution of out-of-service aircraft.
- Ensure maintenance contractor qualifications are in accordance with CFRs and Frontier Airlines’ standards (training records, courses, certifications, exams, insurance, and drug program).
- Ensure compliance with Frontier maintenance manuals and company policies and procedures.
- Establish communication lines with Maintenance Control and Maintenance Planning to ensure all maintenance work is performed within the prescribed limitations.
- Ensure timely documentation compliance, including accuracy, entry into the maintenance tracking systems, and submission to Maintenance Records.
- Manage line maintenance aircraft tooling, including availability, maintenance/calibration, and local vendor control if applicable
- Ensure Frontier facilities, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in safe/serviceable condition, including any operated by a provider
- Coordinate with other departments for optimal safety, compliance, and operational performance.
- Prepare station/contractual performance reports, KPI tracking, performance, staffing, etc.
- Conduct reviews/reports in accordance with Frontier Airlines policies and procedures
- Manage budgets as defined by the Regional Director of Line Maintenance
- Assure root-cause investigation, corrective actions, and timely resolution of audit findings.
- Manage, monitor and coordinate SMS activities as directed. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of the SMS throughout Frontier.
- Identify hazards and safety risk assessments including change management
- Promote safety - ensure effectiveness of safety risk controls
- Advise the accountable executive on the performance of the SMS and on any need for improvement
- Accountable for achieving safety performance relative to job tasks
- Manage risk acceptable level: Blue or lower as defined by Frontier’s company risk matrix
Qualifications
- FAA-certificated Airframe and Powerplant ratings
- High school diploma
- Preferred Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in management, engineering or relative discipline
- 10 years of line maintenance experience for CFR 121 carrier
- Airbus line maintenance experience is preferred
- 5+ years in a management/leadership role in an Aircraft line maintenance operation
- Working knowledge of part 121 Federal Aviation Regulations
- Applied experience managing contracted services and/or contract management
