Role Introduction
Reports to: Components & Powerplants Manager
This role is part of our Engineering Department who are focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customer’s safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation. we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.
You will be responsible for the availability of compliant aircraft rotables and repairables (including airframe & cabin LRU’s, APU’s, powerplants and tooling/GSE) against agreed service and cost levels as well as initiating and driving improvements to improve service levels and reduce cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, review and manage the approval of repair shops
- Assist the CX Procurement department in contracting comprehensive repair contracts and Inventory Technical Management (ITM) service providers
- Manage the implementation of ITM demand and return processes, end-to-end repair process for rotables and repairable and the Quick Engine Change (QEC) build-up/build-down process
- Oversee the performance of (ITM) pool service providers
- Initiate joint improvement initiatives to enhance contract value to CX
- Set up budgets for repair and ITM activities and monitor actual costs
- Manage engine storage at on-site and off-site locations
- Ensure that CX-owned rotables and repairables are properly provisioned and proper vetting and clearing of supplier invoices
- Support of other departments to resolve parts shortages
- Manage the initial provisioning process for new aircraft systems and types
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years' relevant experience in aircraft maintenance and/or engineering
- More than 2 years in an Inventory Controller’s role (or equivalent)
- Degree in Engineering / Aerospace or Logistics discipline or other relevant field
- Good analytical skills and process-oriented
- Good commercial and financial awareness and acumen
- Strong in communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements
