Position Summary
The Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for the successful development of training curricula in support of various internal customers and program objectives within the Design Team. Part of the Instructional Design team, they will be the central source for information, expertise, and consulting on instructional design and learning strategy. This position reports to the Manger of Learning Design & Support.
This position has an estimated duration of 10 months. Note that no relocation assistance is available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of instructor led and computer based training course elements
- Analyzes course content and determines best media-rich components to enhance student learning and to enhance content delivery
- Investigates, evaluates, and implements new course design and delivery methods
- Completes multimedia design projects, working in cooperation with other instructional designers and subject matter experts.
- Works with other units to provide quality educational programs for internal clients
- Collaborate with team members (i.e. designers and SMEs) to gather information and develop educational content in an effective manner which meets the educational needs of diverse learners
- Reports course development scheduling, progress, and completion to the Manager of Learning Design and Support
- Research and stay current in trends and best practices in educational technology, adult education, blended learning and online learning
- Monitor and respond to course maintenance tickets and issues as they are received, coordinating across functional teams to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner and information is communicated effectively and appropriately;
- Acts as project manager for all assigned projects
- Other duties as assigned or directed
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1 years of experience in a learning and development function designing and developing for all delivery mechanisms
- Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design, adult learning theory, competency-based learning, and eLearning design practices
- Knowledge of PowerPoint and other multimedia/eLearning authoring tools, Articulate Storyline.
- Committed team player with strong client service orientation.
- Ability to visualize and communicate complex concepts effectively
- Ability to work proactively with supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Monitor and respond to course maintenance tickets and issues as they are received, coordinating across functional teams to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner and information is communicated effectively and appropriately
- Comfort working in a fast paced, high changing work environment

Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $58,400 - $76,700.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing competency-based training courses
- Proficient in Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite graphics and video production/editing software
- Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Articulate Storyline
