Job Description:
The Communication Systems Segment is seeking a Director, Business Development to lead the growth of international Broadband Communication Systems (BCS) products and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of the business capture process including early opportunity identification, requirements shaping, qualification, competitive assessments, development of ‘win’ strategies, as well as participate in proposal efforts, and collaborate with other L3Harris representatives to maximize opportunity wins for the company. This position reports directly to Vice President of International Business Development, Communication Systems.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement a successful business, sales & marketing strategy to drive profitable growth in BCS international markets through strategic business leadership.
- Drive the development of existing customers together with securing new business opportunities, through exceptional service, and innovative systems, products and support offerings.
- Establish and manage the relationships with Dealers and Strategic Partners to maximize the opportunities for growth.
- Understanding the U.S. Foreign Military Sales Process and accessing/leveraging U.S. Foreign Military Funding (FMF) channels.
- Provide vision to international channel sales team members for BCS growth.
- Recruit & retain key personnel to resource the requirements of the business plan.
- Work Collaboratively with Market Development, Programs and functional Directors to ensure issues are resolved wherever possible without the need for further escalation.
- Act as a full and proactive member of the International Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business area or functional teams. Typically has broad experience across multiple related professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization’s business practices.
- Experience in marketing, sales, business development with military customers preferred.
- Experience writing successful proposals to military customers preferred.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships in our industry.
- Willing to travel 30% of time to international customers and partners sites
- High level of business/financial acumen; global business acumen in communications and/or relevant technology markets with broad knowledge of changing global markets.
- Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis, communicates results effectively, and work with business partners in developing and implementing new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results.
- Strong executive presence as well as the ability to effectively influence and make recommendations at all levels of the organization.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $149,000 - $277,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
