Job Summary
The overall responsibility of this position is to retrieve, sort, distribute and process inbound packages, in accordance with government regulations. This includes the processing regional/non-metro freight.
Responsibilities:
Organise retrieval of inbound freight from the airlines (international & domestic) in a timely manner. Recording & advising the Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager of any discrepancies in retrieval of freight.
Sorting inbound freight to move the cleared packages for distribution and un-cleared packages to the customs cage. Packages must be sorted accurately in their respective locations.
Preparing packages for examination by Australian customs and quarantine services.
Scanning packages appropriately to reflect the physical movement of the package. This must be performed diligently and accurately.
Downloading scanner data to computer and then in turn uploading the same to the server.
Answering phone & email queries pertaining to shipments in the warehouse/bond.
Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the UPS Store area. Each package, paperwork, and correspondence has it’s designated place in the store. Therefore, ensure the optimised usage of store space and time.
Prepare and process DAWR shipments for inspection each morning. This includes scanning of releases off invoices into iDIS.
Prepare and process ABF shipment for inspection each afternoon.
Ensuring packages for sub-contractors (including Regional Freight) are ready in a timely manner for deliveries.
Any other tasks that may be assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
A performer who has great organisational skill, who can meet tight deadlines on multiple projects/tasks
Accurate reporting skill
Positive attitude
Knowledge of Perth and Greater Perth districts (preferable but not necessary)
Ability to work unsupervised
Basic Computer literacy and skill (incl MS Office Applications)
A keen eye for detail.
