Network Planning Analyst

If this sounds like you, we are looking for a Network Analyst to play a key role in shaping our future route network.
Using analytical techniques, you'll bring together data from multiple sources. You'll make recommendations to change existing frequency, add new destinations, or change fleet allocations and timings to maximise profitability. You will guide procurement and attend route conferences globally to build relationships with current and future airport partners, with the aim of further supporting route profitability.
To implement your ideas you’ll be required to work closely with the slots and scheduling teams to create a feasible seasonal schedules at one of the world's most congested airports.
What you’ll do:
- To develop and maintain regional and network strategies that shape and support BA’s network plan
- To develop the BA LHR and LGW network plans, aligned with the network strategies, always seeking to maximise commercial returns through the right sizing of the network and each individual route (frequency and aircraft size) as well as ensuring timings are optimum for customer types
- Build and maintain effective relationships across the airline, group and joint businesses to inform and facilitate ongoing network development on a seasonal or tactical basis.
- Produce regular, well summarized, timely and accurate management information on network financial performance
- Translate performance, strategy, insights into compelling presentations (Powerpoint, Word documents and verbally) to Director level
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- I have strong analytical skills, able to work with complex data, interpret results and communicate recommendations effectively
- I have an excellent working knowledge of the main techniques, processes, systems and data sources used in commercial, cost and network analysis
- I am resilient, and work calmly and effectively under constant time pressures, always seeking to maintain an exemplary standard
- I am articulate and able to communicate effectively to different audiences
- I work well in a team environment, hungry to learn, not daunted by asking for help and find it rewarding to help others
Your experience:
- I have a numerate degree or proven numerical aptitude in a similar role
- I have an excellent understanding of the BA network and fleet, markets and competitors
- I have a good understanding of aviation business, airline economics, and the commercial, operational and financial drivers of the airline, group, alliances and joint businesses
- I am proficient in financial analysis, able to interpret route results and concepts including cost allocation methodologies and revenue performance
- I have a good understanding of airline revenue management and pricing, and customer purchase behaviour
