The Role: Principal Solution Architect
Join our forward-thinking Architecture & Engineering team as a Principal Solution Architect! Embedded within our delivery squads, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of our customer journeys by defining and delivering innovative and transformative solution architectures.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide technical leadership across multiple domains, driving strategic vision and aligning solutions to meet evolving business objectives.
- Define solutions to sophisticated challenges, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices and BA standards.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, from delivery leaders to product owners, to craft world-class, fit-for-purpose applications that streamline processes and maximise efficiency.
- Maintain and evolve technical roadmaps that enable scalability, reliability, and adaptability to future requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire solution architects within your domain, encouraging a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Support Agile delivery processes, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint retrospectives, and program increment planning.
- Influence senior stakeholders across BA Digital, balancing priorities to achieve optimal outcomes for the business.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and identify opportunities to integrate them into our architecture, ensuring British Airways remains at the forefront of innovation.
What You’ll Bring to British Airways:
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills to influence decision-making across the organisation.
- A results-driven mindset with a track record of delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions to complex challenges.
- Expertise across architecture domains, including business, data, applications, and technology.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, hybrid architectures), secure computing practices, and scalable design patterns.
- A passion for driving continuous improvement while balancing quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Your Experience:
- A proven track record of delivering complex solution architectures in diverse business and technical environments.
- Extensive experience in application development, enterprise integration, IT infrastructure, and migration planning.
- Certified qualifications in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Agile methodologies like SAFe are desirable.
- A strong understanding of Cloud Architecture Patterns, secure computing practices, and design for reliability and scalability.
