Job Summary
Responsible for designing, administering, and maintaining reliable, secure, and
high-performing database systems.
Combines traditional DBA expertise with Site Reliability Engineering principles to
ensure availability, automation, scalability, and operational excellence across on-prem and
cloud environments.
Administer production and non-production databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MSSQL).
Key Responsibilities
- Implement backup, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor database health, system performance, and storage utilization using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
- Engineer and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code deployments with Terraform and Ansible.
- Configure CI/CD pipelines for database schema management and environment provisioning.
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to design resilient and fault-tolerant architectures.
- Required Skills / Must-Have
- Expert-level knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MSSQL.
- Deep expertise in backup/recovery, replication, clustering, high availability, and performance tuning.
- Strong command of query optimization, schema design, and indexing strategieExperience:15+ years in database administration infrastructure automation, and reliability engineering.
Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems (Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch).
- Experience with Redis Enterprise or high-performance caching architectures.
- Knowledge of microservices reliability patterns and service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
- Background in cost optimization, performance benchmarking, and DR design.
- Experience driving DevOps/SRE adoption and cultural transformation initiatives.
- 24×7 production support readiness and on-call rotation participation.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
MCA / BCA / Diploma in Computer Engineering with 15+ years of progressive DBA/SRE experience.
Certifications/Licenses
- MongoDB Certified DBA Associate (preferred).
- Oracle MySQL Database Administrator or Microsoft SQL Server Certification.
- AWS / Azure Database or DevOps Engineer – Professional.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
