Role Introduction
Report to: General Manager Employee Experience
This is a pivotal role in a newly established team within the People Department (PPL) which is responsible for the design and management of employee relations and experience and aims at fostering a positive and collaborative working environment throughout the organisation on the global basis.
As the Global Employee Relations & Process Optimisation Manager, you are responsible for formulating industrial relations (IR) strategy for Hong Kong and support the regions by orchestrating global negotiation calendar and sharing best practices. You are also responsible for ensuring PPL policy alignment, driving operational excellence, enhancing employee satisfaction to shape an environment that empowers employees and ensures a comprehensive approach to governance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and implementation of People policies and employment contracts, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with organisational objectives to mitigate risks
- Maintain and develop a governance framework for managing grievances and employee cases, prioritising fairness and transparency
- Promote a collaborative workplace culture that enhances employee satisfaction and supports organisational goals
- Establish and manage an Industrial Relations (IR) forum for Hong Kong and regional teams, facilitating best practice sharing and providing updated resources
- Monitor regional IR activities and coordinate global IR schedules, keeping senior management informed of key timelines and agreements
- Develop IR strategy and manage relationships with the Local Staff Union in Hong Kong, leading on employment matters
- Lead optimisation of People processes and systems across departments and regions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Drive innovation and transformation projects focused on enhancing the employee experience through data and feedback
- Align People Policies and employee experience processes across global and cross-employee groups as required
- Manage team performance, set objectives, support development of high-potential employees, and foster active communication around goals and performance.
Requirements
- Over 15 years of work experience in Human Resources, including at least 6 years in Employee Relations (ER)
- Strong understanding on the trends and models of employee relations, employee experience and process with ability to identify values and opportunities
- Experience in leading complex, global ER and people operations transformation activities from start to finish
- Experience in developing metrics, KPIs, reporting frameworks, dashboards and using various vehicles and change approaches to implement them effectively
- Experience in leading employee research activity or surveys and driving insights
- Strong change management experience in leading multiple projects or work-streams
- Strong knowledge of analytics and reporting tools
- Excellent communications and influencing skills.
