Do you want to play a key role in strengthening safety processes within a growing airline?
We are looking for a Safety Officer – Flight Operations / Flight Data Monitoring to join our Safety team. In this role, you will support key safety management processes connected to flight operations by processing safety reports, maintaining safety documentation, and coordinating internal follow-ups to ensure our standards remain consistently high.
You will work closely with Safety Managers, FDM gatekeepers, and operational stakeholders, helping strengthen a strong safety culture across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, collaboration, and taking ownership of important operational processes.
This is a full-time, office-based role located in Riga, Latvia.
Responsibilities and duties:
Review and present safety reports received in the safety occurrence tab. Systematicallyreviewing the safety reports, analyzing them, and preparing summaries for management;
Daily processing and coordinate of safety reports, which includes updating the Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MORs) within the ECCAIRS platform. Enter and update reports in the system to ensure accurate tracking and documentation of safety incidents within industry regulations and standards;
To assist with the management of safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and help implement safety policies and procedures. Coordinate safety training sessions, ensuring that safety standards are maintained across different departments, and facilitating communication between safety teams;
Review and maintain all safety-related documentation within the department. Ensure that safety manuals, policies, procedures, and training materials are up to date and compliant with relevant regulations. Ensure that all records are properly filed and easily accessible for audits and reviews, maintaining a high level of organization and accuracy;
Upon the Employer’s request, provide a progress report about the assigned work duties;
Coordinate with AOCs FDM gate keepers on Flight Data Monitoring administrative matters;
Perform individual assignments of the Employer and other tasks of similar nature.
What we're looking for:
Minimum 1 year of experience within Safety Management Systems in the Aviation environment;
Knowledge of SMS EASA / UK requirements;
Knowledge, understanding and embracement of Just Culture principles;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work well on your own initiative with strong planning and task prioritization skills;
Good MS Word & Office skills. (Excel & PowerPoint required and Power BI not required, but beneficial);
Fluency in spoken and written English for communication with colleagues and cooperation partners outside of Latvia.
Desirable:
Active or frozen PPL or ATPL license;
Aviation Operational background;
Familiarity with maintenance standards and practices;
Familiarity with Flight Data Monitoring requirements.
