Job Summary:
The Sales Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and follow-up of a sales plan that will create opportunities for the proliferation of the company's products and services to commercial airline operators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivate successful customer relationships that focus on mutual benefit, maximize the partnership potential, and drive to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations
- Act as the primary point of contact for each appointed customer, and be a customer advocate for them within the organization
- Visit customers on a regular basis
- Develop well-organized, informative proposals in response to customer requests. Solicit and coordinate other internal resources when needed or desired
- Develop and present detailed product and system presentations
- Manage product/services mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims
- Forecast product requirements for each customer on a monthly basis
- Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
- Lead customer contract negotiations and coordinate other internal resources as necessary
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information
- Attend trade shows and seminars, demonstrate products, articulate competitive benefits of company products and services
- Seek out new sales and growth opportunities for the company
- Represent the company during negotiations and offsite sales meetings and advise management of outcome and next steps
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 10+ years of experience working in a similar role or 5 years of experience in sales/business development in the IFE/Aerospace industry and 5 years of engineering experience
- Aerospace (IFE, Cabin Interiors, or Aviation) Sales or Marketing or Business development experience
- Established relationships within the Aerospace industry
- Experience with CRM tool
- Good understanding of the IFE competitive landscape, products and systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
