Avionics Assembly Engineer who will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and quality assurance of avionics components and systems within UAVs. He/she will work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure the proper installation and functioning of avionics equipment, contributing to the overall performance and safety of the drone.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and integrate avionics systems, including flight control systems, GPS, sensors, communication devices, and other electronics, into UAVs according to design specifications.
- Fabricate and install wiring harnesses and connectors to connect avionics components, ensuring secure connections and compliance with industry standards. Conduct functional tests, calibration, and troubleshooting of avionics systems to verify proper operation and accuracy.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that avionics assemblies meet the highest standards of reliability and safety.
- Maintain detailed records of avionics assembly processes, configurations, and test results for traceability and compliance purposes.
- Ensure that avionics systems adhere to safety regulations and industry standards, including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and environmental requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams, to address avionics-related issues and improvements.
- Diagnose and resolve avionics-related issues, both during assembly and in the field, to minimize downtime and improve drone performance.
- Assist in selecting appropriate avionics components and vendors, considering factors such as cost, performance, and reliability.
- Implement avionics system upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to improve drone capabilities and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in avionics assembly or related electronics assembly in the aerospace industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of avionics systems, electronics, sensors, and communication technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for avionics systems in UAVs or aerospace applications.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to stay current with evolving avionics technologies and best practices.
