Role Introduction
Report to: Passenger Sales Accounting Manager
The Accountant sits under the Finance Customer Travel team of Cathay Pacific Financial Services Department will play a pivotal role in ensuring amount billed are properly settled and amount settled are reconciled with bank remittance. Candidates with audit experience with recognized audit firms are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure update of Account Receivable / General Ledger / Bank General Ledger records by overviewing completeness and correctness of Account Receivable, completeness and correctness of General Ledger and Bank records
- Follow up issues with Customers / Global Acquirers / Payment Gateway Providers, reviewing General Ledger account balances and ensuring sufficient Bank Account balance for fund deduction by Multiple Currency Plan
- Review analysis on debtor’s status, analysis on unreconciled bank settlement, analysis on Global Acquirers settlement exchange difference and analysis on Global Acquirers credit card commission fee
- Handle system development tasks by following up with vendors on system development issues, reviewing development process and prepare test cases
- Complete checking of User Acceptance Test in Test Environment, Pre-Production Test in Production Environment and monitor Production data during post-production maintenance period
- Handle user profile for system access by reviewing user profile access right, regular user access health check
- Prepare Debtor’s Ageing Report, review Debtor’s status and process bad debt provision and unclaimed coupon status and process unclaimed revenue provision
- Prepare Sales In Advance Carriage (SIAC) Ticket Recon Report, General Ledger adjustment and Interim and Year-end Schedules
- Prepare budget on Sales In Advance Carriage (SIAC), budget on Unclaimed Revenue and budget on Miscellaneous Revenue
- Conduct coaching session to ensure appropriate skill set of staff, review staff development programs as appropriate, recommend appropriate training courses for staff development; and review staff performance and provide constructive feedback
Requirements
- A degree holder in Accounting with professional designation in Accountancy preferred
- Minimum 7 years' relevant experience of which 3 years' experience in supervisory. Audit experience with recognized audit firms a definite plus
- Strong analytical mind and interpersonal skills
- Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
- Experience in using SAP advantageous
- Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese
- Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
- Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
