This is an opportunity to join the Norse UK management team in a key leadership role as Flight Crew Training Manager reporting to the Accountable Manager.
The successful candidate will have impeccable leadership skills, along with both strong regulatory & training knowledge and a good understanding of the safety management system.
The role is 50% office based and will require both regular office attendance and cross functional working with other key functions within the companies operational structure, along with regular communication and alignment with our sister AOC and opposite number.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Flight Crew Training Manager (FCTM) supports the Nominated Person Crew Training (NPCT) by managing flight crew training.
· Deputising for the NPCT.
· Supervising the progress of pilots under training.
· Managing the competence of individual pilots and the underperformance policy.
· Ensuring that training captains, instructors and examiners are qualified and competent.
· Ensuring that all training and checking is conducted according to OM-D.
· Reviewing training/checking reports and collating feedback from training captains, instructors and examiners.
· Conducting periodic training inspections and audits.
· Reviewing changes to relevant CAA regulations and guidance.
· Recommending changes to pilot-training policies and programs so that they remain compliant with regulations and industry best practice.
· Promoting safety policy and safety culture to instructors and flight crew.
· Supporting the NPCT to ensure that both regulatory and departmental compliance is observed and adhered to.
Required qualifications and certifications
Ideally the successful candidate will be an experienced training captain, flight simulator instructor and examiner on the B787.
He / she should:
· Understand the regulatory requirements for pilot training in a commercial air transport operation.
· Be familiar with the parts of OM-D relevant to pilot training.
· Be familiar with aviation management systems, including compliance monitoring and safety management procedures.
Required experience
Ideally the successful candidate with have held a nominated role in an AOC before, however Norse will consider candidates with previous operational management experience and/or a suitable background accompanied by a strong wiliness to learn and adopt to the requirements of the role.
