Essential Functions
- Set long-term strategy for Frontier Airlines operational safety through regular assessment and active mitigation of all potential operations risks.
- Leads and develops safety team responsible for the company Safety Management System (SMS), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program, Internal Evaluation Program (IEP), Fatigue Risk Management Program (FRMP), and Regulatory Compliance Program by providing performance management and ongoing feedback while fostering a strong team environment.
- Build strong partnership with key operations stakeholders on the management and continuous improvement of safety performance.
- Serve as the Frontier Airlines 119.65 Director of Safety
- Lead the daily execution of a risk-based Safety Management System (SMS) across Frontier Airlines
- Support all operating divisions with ensuring robust analysis of safety performance risk and effective visibility to mitigation efforts through the company Safety
- Management System (SMS)
- Oversee the proper functioning of the company voluntary safety programs – Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA), and Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) and ensure each program provides robust risk analysis and proactive risk mitigation.
- Seve as the company NTSB Liaison and Party Coordinator
- Partner with the Director Ground Operations Safety on the company investigation process
- Ensure a positive and transparent relationship with the FAA, NTSB, and other regulators on safety
- Oversee the external audit readiness process and company foreign codeshare program
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of aviation safety or airline operations experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of a degree
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated experience supporting, leading, or building a Safety Management System (SMS)
- Innovative, apolitical, resilient, fact-based, and creative solutions-focused mindset, with ability to thrive in a rapidly-changing, collaborative environment and to manage conflict
- Demonstrated ability to quickly scope situations, develop an accurate understanding of risks, and develop plans responsive to those risks.
- Professional work ethic and demonstrated ability to work with all work groups while addressing people courageously, directly, and candidly.
- FAA Certificated Airman License strongly preferred
- Outstanding communication (verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills, with a demonstrated commitment to clear and transparent communication

Supervision Received
Considerable Latitude: The incumbent establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals. Only the final results of work are typically reviewed.
