A QA Automation Engineer ensures the reliability, quality, and performance of software applications by designing and implementing robust automated testing solutions. They will collaborate across development, DevOps, and security teams to drive continuous quality improvements throughout the software lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with test automation tools such as ReadyAPI, Playwright, Selenium, JMeter, PostMan and a keen eye for optimizing test processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, and backend testing using tools such as ReadyAPI, Playwright, and PostMan.
- Create, manage, and execute test plans, test cases and regression suites across multiple environments.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing to ensure application reliability and compliance.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git (Bitbucket).
- Integrate Veracode scans and static/dynamic security testing within pipelines to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with developers to analyse defects, troubleshoot issues, and provide actionable feedback.
- Ensure test environments are configured and maintained for consistent, reliable results.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and release readiness reviews, ensuring quality gates are met.
- Create and maintain testing documentation, reports, and dashboards for internal and cross-functional visibility.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
Technical competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least a year in automation.
- Proficiency in one of the test automation tools: ReadyAPI, JMETER and Playwright.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite for Issue and test management: Jira and Zephyr Scale.
- Strong understanding of API testing, HTTP protocols, and RESTful service validation.
- Hands-on experience scripting in Groovy, Javascript/TypeScript, for automation frameworks.
- Experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes and continuous testing practices.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with attention to detail.

- Experience using Veracode for application security testing (SAST/DAST).
- Knowledge of testing within cloud deployments (AWS).
- Familiarity with test data management and mocking/stubbing frameworks.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Kibana, CloudWatch) for QA validation in production-like environments.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure coding standards.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and tools in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
