Job Summary
The GKN Fokker Elmo Engineering department is seeking a motivated and forward‑thinking
engineer to support the development of next‑generation Electrical Wiring Interconnection
Systems (EWIS) for sustainable aircraft, with a strong emphasis on data accuracy, traceability, and
regulatory compliance.
This position will be based out of India where you will apply your technical background and strong
data‑management capabilities to support the Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams,
primarily located in the Netherlands. As an EWIS Sr. Component Data Specialist, you will be part of
the Components & Environmental Testing (ECE) Design Group, contributing to the structured
management of component specifications, regulatory compliance data, and digital parts
documentation. Your work will ensure that accurate, traceable, and future‑ready component
information is maintained to enable robust electrical interconnection solutions for
next‑generation aircraft.
Mission
The EWIS Component Data & Material Compliance Team ensures that EWIS components are fully
compliant, traceable, and accurately documented — enabling safe, reliable, and certifiable aircraft
systems. The role provides critical support to engineering teams by maintaining high‑quality,
traceable component information, enabling efficient and compliant design processes, and
ensuring that all materials and components adhere to applicable European regulations, including
REACH And Other Environmental Compliance Requirements.
In this senior role, you will also mentor and guide Component Data & Material Compliance
Specialists, providing technical direction, reviewing their work, and helping them develop strong
part data and compliance practices and domain expertise.
Component Data Management – In House Database tool (WDMS)
Maintain and update EWIS component data (connectors, cables, backshells, splices, clamps, etc.)
within the in-house database system (WDMS), ensuring full alignment with engineering
specifications and manufacturing requirements. Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and
end‑to‑end traceability across all engineering databases.
Manage component information and regulatory compliance documentation—including REACH and
other applicable European environmental regulations—within the third‑party portal.
Support the creation, validation, and ongoing maintenance of component libraries and
design‑responsible parts to ensure that only compliant, qualified components are available for use
in EWIS designs.
For operational activities, the candidate will report to the Centre of Competence Manager – EWIS
Components and Environmental Testing (ECE), and hierarchically to the local Manager. You will
work closely with the local team, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and/or
Integrated Project Teams to manage parts and materials specifications, compliance data, and
digital records for current and future aircraft programs.
