Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for leading production personnel and managing production processes to ensure efficient, safe, and on-time delivery of components in accordance with customer, quality, and organizational requirements. This role plays a critical part in daily execution, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement within the production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily production goals to meet customer demand and contractual requirements.
- Plan, direct, and assign work to production personnel; schedule and authorize overtime as required.
- Establish and maintain workflow policies that maximize efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Communicate production priorities and updates to ensure smooth production flow.
- Coordinate with quality, HSE, and maintenance teams for scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Partner with quality to ensure required training is completed on time; assist with training as needed.
- Conduct daily check-ins with production personnel to ensure that goals are met; address issues and escalate to the Site Manager when necessary.
- Monitor shop, shipping, and stockroom supplies; assist with supply ordering as needed.
- Complete required customer, shipping, and production reports.
- Work closely with the Inventory Manager to proactively identify and prevent inventory deficiencies.
- Ensure WIP valuation accuracy by researching and resolving discrepancies; follow up with purchasing on structural parts as needed.
- Review WIP daily, including rejected material, and document notes as required.
- Monitor tire inventory, place orders as needed, and complete month-end tire inventory counts.
- Provide daily production metrics and cross-functional updates to optimize performance.
- Track non-production hours for production personnel.
- Match wheel halves for rejected units or units sent to OSR.
- Participate in hiring and selection of production personnel.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate employees while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and administer corrective actions in accordance with company policies.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two plus years’ production supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience in an aviation production environment is preferred.
