Position Overview
The Continuous Improvement Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency, cost reduction, and overall process optimization. This position involves analyzing existing production workflows to identify opportunities for improvement using data-driven insights and Lean manufacturing principles.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Continuous Improvement Engineer develops and implements strategies that streamline operations, improve product quality, and promote a safer work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in identifying, prioritizing, and executing process improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
- Lead Balance Scorecard events and related performance improvement initiatives
- Conduct and lead Industrial Management Process audits
- Manage site reporting of Continuous Improvement KPIs
- Lead site and corporate Continuous Improvement (CI) events
- Drive and expand the “belt” certification approach within the site
- Deploy and train team members on Safran methodologies, tools, and best practices (FOD, Human Factors, Poka Yoke, etc.)
- Manage and sustain the 5S program
- Lead deployment of QRQC methodology and coach QRQC leaders
- Coach Kaizen events and provide training on Green Belt tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Lean / Six Sigma certification or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, MRO, or industrial production environment
- Proven experience with QRQC, 5S, 8D problem-solving, and Lean transformation methods
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and continuously improve
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Excellent communication and facilitation abilities
- Experience leading training sessions or workshops
- Ability to influence and drive change across multiple levels of the organization
