The Account Executive – Cargo Sales is responsible for delivering cargo revenue performance across the UK market. This customer-facing role drives commercial results through structured account management, partner collaboration, market insight, and effective coordination with operational teams. This role is based in our London, England office and does not provide relocation.
Key Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned based on operational and business needs):
Commercial Delivery
- Execute the UK cargo sales strategy to achieve revenue, volume, and market share goals.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities and negotiate commercial agreements within governance guidelines.
- Manage sales enquiries and pricing requests in line with service standards.
- Analyse performance data (e.g., CASS and internal reports) to identify opportunities and recommend actions.
Customer Relationship Management
- Manage key accounts including freight forwarders, GSAs, and strategic shippers.
- Conduct customer visits and virtual meetings to promote the cargo product portfolio.
- Build strong relationships across all levels of customer organisations.
- Provide proactive account support, including performance reviews and issue resolution.
Joint Venture & Partner Collaboration
- Work closely with JV and partner airline cargo sales teams to align commercial actions.
- Support joint sales initiatives and share relevant market intelligence.
- Monitor JV performance and report risks and opportunities.
Service Quality & Operational Coordination
- Coordinate with Cargo Operations, Station Management, and Ground Handling partners to ensure service excellence.
- Escalate service issues and support corrective actions.
Market Intelligence & Internal Collaboration
- Monitor UK cargo market trends, competitor activity, and pricing developments.
- Represent the cargo commercial team internally and externally, including industry events.
- Collaborate with Pricing, Revenue Management, Operations, and Marketing teams.
- Promote company values and ensure consistent brand representation.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Candidates must have unrestricted, permanent right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.
- Minimum of 2 years related cargo sales experience or related work experience.
- General knowledge of Delta's markets and competitive market position as well as sales strategies, programs, processes, tools and infrastructure.
- Strong commercial acumen and proven relationship‑management skills.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
- Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel for business.
