Delta Air Lines is hiring a General Manager to lead our SkyMiles’ relationship with American Express! This individual will lead a team responsible for the product strategy, integration and customer experience of the SkyMiles American Express co-brand card portfolio.
In this role, you will partner closely with colleagues at American Express, as well as with Delta stakeholders across the company, to innovate credit card product design and customer experience, to achieve co-brand growth targets. In addition, the individual be Delta’s primary point person for the American Express partnership beyond Co-brand, such as Membership Rewards and Global Merchant Services.
This role is based in Atlanta, GA and reports to the Managing Director of Loyalty, Co-brand Credit Cards.
Responsibilities
- Partner with American Express and Delta stakeholders to deliver long-term strategy to achieve the industry’s most valuable co-brand portfolio, including driven assessment and applying Delta and Amex data to develop and implement recommendations.
- Drive technology implementations that build new capabilities for direct customer marketing and improve existing customer experience, in close coordination with internal Delta and external American Express teams.
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs and credit card competitive environment. Evaluate and prioritize pipeline of new products and features that can further engage existing customers or differentiate Delta’s co-brand portfolio from our key competitors.
- Lead and develop a strong team to evaluate and develop strategies, supporting the growth of the co-brand portfolio, and delivering insights.
- Negotiate new contractual agreements with Amex and ensures delivery of existing agreements. Plan, prepare, and deliver presentations to senior leaders both inside and outside of Delta.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- This role requires to be thoughtful while taking some risks to achieve speed to market.
- Must be analytically thorough, collaborate well and synthesize and communicate sophisticated concepts in a simple manner to different audiences.
- Have a “customer-first” mentality and a passion for building winning products that uniquely meet customer needs. Have commercial foresight and strong influencing skills.
- Blend of both business and technical experience in a corporate setting, with comfort analyzing and synthesizing financial data.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and developing people (direct or indirect reports). Strong relationship management skills.
- Comfortable and effective interacting frequently with and making recommendations to senior leaders.
- A fast learning, resilient, self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as work well in a team environment with a high degree of autonomy and excel under pressure.
- Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data. Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.
