What Will You Be Doing?
The Senior Analyst, Operations Planning & Design supports the development of processes and analyses that improve operational performance across the organization. This role applies advanced analytical skills to identify efficiencies, enhance workflows, and reduce costs across Operations and Commercial functions. The Senior Analyst partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to break down complex problems and deliver clear, actionable insights that strengthen planning, execution, and decision‑making.
Essential Functions
- Break down complex operational challenges and large datasets into clear, actionable insights that support decision‑making for leaders across the organization.
- Lead analytical efforts that inform the development of operational and network strategies by interpreting trends, assessing performance drivers, and synthesizing both quantitative and qualitative inputs.
- Review historical and future schedules and operational plans to proactively identify bottlenecks and risks; work across the enterprise to minimize identified problem areas.
- Provide analytical support in cross-functional initiatives, including preparing materials, coordinating discussions, and aligning recommendations with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Drive improvements in operational performance by identifying high‑impact opportunities—such as enhancing processes, optimizing resource and staffing plans, evaluating new capabilities, and improving schedule design.
- Prepare clear and concise presentations that effectively communicate insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Build subject matter expertise on operational topics and trends across the business and industry.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related analytical field, or equivalent work experience in lieu.
- Previous professional use of SQL, Python, or R required.
- Previous professional experience working with large datasets required
- 4-6 years of professional experience in an analytical role required.
- Experience in airline operations, logistics, operations management, network planning, scheduling, revenue management, revenue analytics or similar positions preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Technical
- Advanced SQL skills to write complex, highly optimized queries against large datasets
- Experience in statistical software such as Python or R
- Demonstrated understanding of airline network design, economics, and operations management principles preferred
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, like Databricks
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred
- Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Professional
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Exemplary written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to structure logical analytical approaches and to apply a range of quantitative techniques to solve business problems in an efficient, timely manner
