JSG is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist with EDM experience who can teach and train others at an established Aerospace client in the Santa Clarita area - temp to hire, onsite and a lot of work.
Overtime available The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting equipment, water jet machines, press equipment, and other production machinery to fabricate parts according to specifications. This position ensures quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met in the production environment.
Primary Duties:
- Set up and operate laser cutters, water jet machines, presses, and other production equipment.
- Program and setup CNC machines - Lathes & Mills
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and tolerances.
- Train other staff members on machines
- Program and cut any part without assistance including multiple part sizes, radius, angles and compression holes.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
- Operate EDM Machine
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality standards are met.
- Follow work instructions.
- Understand and apply Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and troubleshooting on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a machinist.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, cutting speeds, and feeding material coils to machine.
- Ability to teach and train others
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in shop mathematics.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on production acceptance and tool usage.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
Pay rate: $32.53 /hr. - $40.26 /hr.
