Key Responsibilities
What You’ll Lead & Deliver
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Execute country‑level cargo operations in alignment with regional strategy to ensure efficient, reliable service delivery.
- Localise global service standards and KPIs to reflect operational realities.
- Set SMART goals for port teams and drive continuous improvement through self‑audits and structured feedback.
- Provide clear, regular updates to Area Cargo Managers on KPIs, station performance, supplier health, and team capability.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of supplier invoice approvals through SAP.
Safety, Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, aviation security, and regulatory requirements, including PLACI (ACAS, ICS2).
- Oversee safe Dangerous Goods handling, cargo build‑up, and aircraft loading.
- Champion the Safety Management System, Emergency Response, and Business Continuity plans.
- Lead investigations into safety or service incidents, promoting learning and accountability.
- Embed sustainable operating practices that reflect Cathay’s ESG commitments.
Customer Experience & Service Innovation
- Resolve customer issues promptly and with empathy across all cargo touchpoints.
- Monitor Cargo iQ and service KPIs to identify gaps and uplift customer satisfaction.
- Ensure premium handling of special cargo and expert‑lift shipments to protect Cathay’s brand promise.
- Contribute insights and ideas to enhance service offerings and drive innovation.
Supplier & Regulatory Partnerships
- Strengthen Supplier Performance Management (SPM) outcomes for CTOs and Ramp Handling Agents.
- Build collaborative, trust‑based relationships with GHAs and GSSAs.
- Represent Cathay effectively with local civil aviation and regulatory authorities.
- Support audit readiness through port audit programs and corporate compliance frameworks.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee trucking, charter, and offline cargo operations for quality and timeliness.
- Leverage data, analytics, and KPIs to monitor trends, resolve bottlenecks, and improve performance.
- Apply lean practices to boost efficiency, ensure SOP alignment, and reduce waste.
- Drive digital adoption including e‑AWB and e‑Freight across stations.
- Support cost governance and optimisation across ground handling, ramp, and trucking operations.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Build, coach, and inspire high‑performing port teams aligned with Cathay values.
- Mentor and develop talent, collaborating with People Managers and Cathay Academy.
- Create a supportive environment through regular performance dialogues and recognition.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and a strong safety and service culture.
Operational Duty Holder Responsibilities
- Act as Operational Duty Holder for port MNL and CEB.
- Ensure safe day‑to‑day operational delivery, including contracted services
- Uphold compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and procedural adherence.
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
What You Bring
- University degree or equivalent; additional logistics, supply chain, or aviation qualifications preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt preferred.
- 6+ years in cargo services, with at least 3 years in supervisory or management roles.
- Strong knowledge of airline operations and international air freight.
- Mandatory RCO and SHE licences for freighter ports.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, planning, and time‑management skills.
