Johnson Service Group is looking for an Accountant with general ledger & bank reconciliations experience for one of our Clients in San Jose.  This person manages and reconciles financial records, processes payroll and invoices, and prepares financial reports and audit support. They ensure compliance with policies, assist with budgeting and year-end activities, and provide support to staff and vendors as needed.Â
Responsibilities:
- Process the credit card transactions; check the transactions for accuracy and proper account coding.
- Process daily receipts; deposit checks received; scan and upload backup documentation to the accounting network folder
- Prepare journal entries as needed for reclasses, property taxes, cash receipts and other revenues.
- Process general invoices relating to leased properties, and other similar requests submitted by other departments.
- Process employee expense reimbursements and credit card transactions in accordance with District policy
- Respond to customer inquiries
Learning Objectives:
- Gain understanding of how the company processes and records revenue collections
- Perform the process of reviewing and approving employee expense claims
Qualifications:
- Equivalent to a Bachelorâs degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a related field.Â
- Basic accounting principles and some governmental accounting
- Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, email)
- Integrated financial accounting system.
- Work with minimal supervision and be a team player; meet deadlines and be willing to learn.
- Be flexible and take on a variety of tasks/assignments to meet the department's needs
- Record transactions accurately
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Work well with customers (internal and external) and provide good customer service
- Working experience in the areas of General Ledger and Accounts Receivable; familiarity with ERP systems.
Rate $39.50/hr
