Vista Members’ fleet comprises over 300 light, super mid-size, long-range and ultra-long-range aircraft. The Maintenance team provides a robust regional support network for Vista’s growing fleet, working across 7 maintenance sites with one of the leading base maintenance facilities in the world, taking care since 2004.
Based at our company headquarters at Malta International Airport, The Maintenance Planning assistant reports directly to the Senior Production Planning Engineer and prepares and monitors the progress of time critical maintenance inputs from start to finish, thus ensuring a smooth maintenance event for the production team and aircraft operator.
This role will sometimes require some weekend and shift work.
Your Responsibilities
- To work with the Senior Production Planning Engineer to produce maintenance input schedules for the Line Stations whilst liaising with the aircraft operator.
- To assist with creating manpower plans and rosters to meet the tasking schedules.
- To identify any shortfalls in manpower or certifying cover in advance of the situation arising.
- To work with the Logistics department ensuring materials/parts are identified and supplied on time to facilitate an on-time return to service.
- To generate quotations, coordinate maintenance events and monitor progress, highlighting any areas of concern.
- To provide daily updates on progress to the operator and VistaJet Aircraft Maintenance (VAM) management.
- To carry out frequent checks on work packages for completeness and ensure they are passed in a timely fashion to the operator
- To attend review meetings to identify areas of improvement.
- To assist with producing information that allow analysis of performance, both physical and financial of the line Stations.
- To organise with Logistics any MRT/OLMs that may require to be dispatched in terms of travel arrangements, risk analysis, airport passes and material, tooling required and to follow the progress of the MRT/OLM and pass the information to the operator.
- To assess the request for a one-off authorisation and liaise with Quality on whether it can be granted to our own engineer or one outside our organisation. All required information is to be collected and saved as required. Instructions on work order, DTL and HIL completion is to be passed on to the engineer and all paperwork is to be checked upon completion of maintenance.
- To assist with collecting information required for robbing of parts and ensure a Form 1 is generated where required.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance;
- Excellent communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English;
- Experience working with business sytems and Microsoft Office packages, notable Excel and Word;
- Flexibility that will enable to effectively support the team.
