Role Introduction
Reports to: Head of IT Solutions
This role sits within the Information Technology Department (IMT), supporting one of our subsidiaries,
Cathay Cargo Terminal, through the delivery and optimisation of critical business applications.
As the Portfolio Solution Manager, you will manage and develop a defined portfolio of business applications and oversee their full lifecycle to ensure strong business alignment, technical health, and cost effectiveness.
You will gain end‑to‑end ownership of enterprise applications, influence technology roadmaps and investment decisions, and work closely with business and IT leaders to deliver meaningful business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the application portfolio across its full lifecycle to ensure business alignment, performance, and cost effectiveness
- Develop and drive application roadmaps, investment plans, and prioritisation in partnership with business stakeholders
- Lead end‑to‑end solution delivery and ongoing operational support within agreed timelines and budgets
- Collaborate with architecture and IT teams to maximise reuse of existing technologies and capabilities
- Ensure applications comply with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities to enhance business value through emerging technologies and modern delivery practices
- Provide leadership and oversight to application teams to deliver reliable and high‑quality IT services
- Build, develop, and motivate a high‑performing technology team and succession pipeline
- Manage external vendors and strategic partners to ensure effective delivery and innovation
- Plan and manage application budgets, with regular tracking and financial reporting
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of IT experience with at least 2 years in a team management role
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing in‑house, external, and offshore technology teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Well‑developed analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities
- Solid experience in business analysis, software development, and project management
- Good understanding of modern technology trends and delivery practices
- Experience in the cargo or aviation industry is an advantage
