Job Purpose
Represent, oversee and manage real-time airport operations at Vueling’s designated station(s), across end-to-end on-site ground handling, turnaround execution, service quality and stakeholder coordination, in line with aviation regulatory requirements, airport procedures, safety standards and Vueling company policies (including resource optimisation and punctuality targets), in order to deliver safe, seamless and efficient operations that protect the airline’s brand and commercial interests, enhance customer satisfaction and maximise on-time performance.
Main Accountabilities
Ensure constant and effective communication with key stakeholders.
Make immediate operational decisions in line with company and regulatory standards.
Allocate and optimise resources dynamically during real-time operations.
Supervise ancillary service management and ensure compliance with established standards.
Anticipate and prepare for operational disruptions.
Monitor and report incidents or deviations from standards.
Support, mentor, and lead handling teams during operations.
Manage night and off-peak operations.
Enforce discipline and procedural compliance among handling teams.
Complement the Duty Managers team by performing Duty Management tasks when required, working shifts as needed and complying with duty standards, including wearing the Vueling uniform when operating in shift mode.
Represent Vueling at the airport by defending the airline’s operational, commercial and brand interests and, when required, formally voting on Vueling’s behalf in airport governance and coordination forums.
Oversee safety and security compliance during operations.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
Maintain seamless coordination with handling supervisors, Vueling’s IOCC, airport executives, and Vueling Airport Support teams, enabling swift and informed decision-making to minimise disruptions.
Resolve operational issues efficiently while adhering to the Vueling Operations Manual, regulations, and aviation best practices, ensuring compliance and safety.
Achieve efficient resource utilisation by reallocating staff and equipment based on current operational demands, ensuring punctuality and costeffectiveness.
Ensure accurate billing and handling of ancillary services, such as baggage fees and service addons, enhancing ancillary revenue while maintaining high service quality.
Mitigate the impact of delays or cancellations by implementing proactive measures, such as coordinating with handling teams, reallocating resources, and preparing contingency plans.
Provide actionable reports on operational inefficiencies, safety concerns, or service deviations, facilitating continuous improvement and compliance.
Foster a productive and professional work environment by guiding teams, addressing challenges promptly, and maintaining high morale and engagement.
Safeguard Vueling’s position and decision rights locally, ensuring that airport-side agreements, priorities and crisis responses support safe, compliant and efficient operations while protecting the airline’s reputation and interests.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field. This academic background accelerates the understanding of airport operations, customer service strategies, and resource management. People without a degree but with extensive hands-on experience in airport operations or handling may also be considered
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in airport operations, handling, or passenger services. Experience in high-traffic international airports is essential to provide exposure to complex operational challenges.
Customer Service Standards, with knowledge of processes related to ancillary services, complaint management, and service recovery.
Deep understanding of EASA, IATA, and Vueling-specific operational standards (e.g., Operations Manual).
Resource Management, with familiarity with staff allocation strategies and productivity metrics, such as hours-per-aircraft turnaround.
Comprehensive knowledge of safety and security requirements, including managing incidents involving passengers, equipment, or aircraft.
