About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Director of Flight & Technical Operations, you will be responsible for helping to define, implement and coordinate all aspects of the IATA ATM strategy. You will also be responsible for leading initiatives to help define the IATA and the industry strategy for embracing the opportunities and challenges of the new emerging technologies, such as but not limited to eVTOL, supersonic and commercial space flights.
You will ensure IATA positions and policies related to ATM are taken into consideration during the planning and implementation of ATM services, systems, and associated infrastructure. Specifically, the role will be responsible for ensuring harmonization between US NextGen, EU SESAR and ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan (including ASBU).
What your day would be like
Lead a global team to help
define IATA long-term strategy for ATM and the key priorities in the short
and medium term
Ensure the coordination of all
advisory Council and working group activities related to this area
Ensure member requirements for Communication, Navigation and Surveillance are fully understood and concisely communicated within industry
In close coordination with ICAO and relevant stakeholders monitor the implementation of the ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan, NextGen, SESAR and other regional/national ATM modernization plans
Develop and coordinate, as appropriate actions plans to ensure IATA positions and policies are considered during the planning and implementation of the above-mentioned ATM programs and plans
Identify and support the Director of Flight & Technical Operations to drive new initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency
Lead and coordinate the establishment and promotion of IATA ATM charges positions and together with OSS Data team, establish appropriate KPIs to monitor ATM performance
Contribute to the development of CNS/ATM policies and guidance material
Maintain
close working relationships with ANSPs, airlines and key industry
stakeholders such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),
the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries
Associations (ICCAIA), the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation
(CANSO), the International Federation of Airline Pilots' Associations
(IFALPA), the Airports Council
International (ACI) and EUROCONTROL the European Organisation for the
Safety of Air Navigation
We would love to hear from you if
- 10 years professional experience with a strong
background and aviation industry knowledge, including Air Traffic
Management operations
- A university degree in business, aviation, or
engineering
- Knowledge and
credibility to be able to lead IATA presentations with global
stakeholders, influence key industry stakeholders and manage an internal
team of subject matter experts
- Ability to drive collaborations and knowledge
exchange across IATA, including our regions as well as with external partners
is essential
- Comprehensive
understanding of economic considerations related to ATM / ATS service
provision as well as current and future business models, including the
impact of increasing levels of automation
- Knowledge and
experience of managing and implementing projects is an advantage.
- Appropriate IT skills, particularly in with MS Office.
- Excellent
oral and written communications skills in English
