Position Summary
In this position the Intern will have the opportunity to join the diverse group of engineers, developing and manufacturing medical devices for the medical/dental industry: new product development, sustaining, manufacturing, and lean manufacturing. Through this opportunity, the engineering co-op will gain experience with the full product life cycle within the medical device industry.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
1. (Design and Drafting) Assist with mechanical part design, electromechanical design, assembly design
2. (Assembly) conduct station set-up, lean manufacturing, process validation, mechanical troubleshooting, & electrical troubleshooting.
3. (Calibration) perform manual calibrations, automated test fixtures, mechanical design and manufacture, software design and execution.
4. (Quality) troubleshoot failure analysis, recommend product improvements, & system software verification and validation of product software.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
- Availability for a full-time co-op term (July 2026 – December 2026)
- Familiarity with CAD, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools such as Minitab
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and other departments
