Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a Legal Operations Manager (Consultant) to support a dynamic and growing Legal Department in
El Segundo, CA.
This role will drive operational efficiency, lead cross-functional initiatives, and partner closely with Legal leadership to enhance the delivery of legal services across the organization.
Hybrid | $50 - $56 per hour | 1 year contract
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute legal operations initiatives, including process improvements and technology implementations
- Partner with Legal leadership to manage project plans, timelines, and key deliverables
- Oversee legal systems such as matter management, contract lifecycle management (CLM), and e-billing platforms
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and reporting to track performance and workload
- Coordinate training for Legal team members and business stakeholders
- Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal vendors to ensure efficiency and cost control
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of departmental spend
- Assist with change management and communication for new tools, processes, and policies
- Contribute to long-term strategy and operational roadmap development
- Engage with executive stakeholders, exercising sound judgment and professionalism
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Legal Operations, Legal Strategy, Management Consulting, or a related field
- Experience operating in a high-growth or enterprise environment preferred
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders
- Strong adaptability and ability to manage competing priorities
Required Skills
- Experience implementing legal operations frameworks and scalable processes
- Knowledge of legal workflows (litigation, corporate, compliance, regulatory, contracts)
- Hands-on experience with legal technologies (e-billing, CLM, matter management, automation/AI tools)
- Strong analytical, reporting, and change management capabilities
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on execution mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence across all levels of an organization
- Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and scalability
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with workflow automation tools
- Advanced interpersonal and collaboration skills
