Summary
The Accounting Manager plays a key role in leading month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This position partners closely with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting operations, ensure compliance within the organizations internal controls framework, and drive efficiency across shared services.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results prior to Controller review
- Prepare and review complex accounting analyses (accruals, reserves, revenue, allocations, fixed assets)
- Perform and review account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances
- Act as a quality control checkpoint for accounting deliverables
- Review work prepared by staff and provide detailed feedback and guidance
- Coordinate work assignments and support team productivity
- Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and foster a collaborative environment
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Lead accounting projects end-to-end, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination
- Support business operations in streamlining end-to-end accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Provide technical accounting guidance to team members
- Lead revenue recognition initiatives and ensure reporting accuracy
- Develop and maintain SOPs, job aids, and process documentation
- Create training materials to support onboarding and cross-training
- Support SAP S/4HANA upgrade efforts, including testing activities
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years public accounting experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Proven ability to lead projects and drive process improvements
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of deliverables
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels
