Position Summary
Job Title: EDM Setter Operator
Location: Coventry, Ansty Park
Hours: Mon-Thurs, (07:00 – 15:30), Fri (07:00 – 12:30)
The Role:
Are you a hands-on machinist who takes pride in precision, accuracy, and high-quality workmanship?
We’re looking for a skilled or developing EDM Setter / Operator to join a multidisciplinary engineering team working with advanced EDM technology and precision finishing processes.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the role:
Setting and operating EDM machines (including specialist systems such as Sarix & Agie-style equipment)
Producing and inspecting high-precision components to tight tolerances
Carrying out first-off inspection and batch quality control
Performing hand deburring, lapping, and fine finishing work
Supporting occasional milling/turning and bench-based operations
Maintaining high standards of 5S, housekeeping, and first-line maintenance
Qualifications
Skills required:
Experience operating EDM or precision machining equipment
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tight tolerances
Skilled use of measuring equipment (micrometers, gauges, comparators, etc.)
Confident with hand finishing techniques (deburring & lapping)
A detail-focused mindset with a strong commitment to quality
Open to development within a precision engineering environment
