Position Summary
Job Title: Match Honer
Location: Coventry, Ansty Park
Hours: Mon-Thurs, (07:00 – 15:30), Fri (07:00 – 12:30)
Duration: Permanent
The Role:
This is a highly specialist machining position focused on producing and finishing aerospace components to exceptional tolerances at sub-micron levels.
You will set and operate advanced honing and lapping equipment to manufacture matched, non-interchangeable assemblies used in high-performance aerospace systems.
Every component you produce plays a vital role in safety, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the role:
Setting and operating precision honing and lapping machines
Machining components to extreme tolerances (down to microns and sub-microns)
Inspecting your own work using advanced metrology equipment
Ensuring full traceability of matched component sets
Conducting first-off inspection before batch production
Maintaining tooling, equipment, and documentation to high aerospace standards
Performing controlled functional tests on finished components
Working closely within a skilled manufacturing team focused on continuous improvement
Qualifications
Skills required:
Experience in precision machining, grinding, honing, or lapping
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Confidence using precision measuring equipment (bore gauges, air gauges, slip gauges, etc.)
A strong commitment to quality and consistency
Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
