Role Introduction
The Sustainability Specialist sits under the Group Sustainability department mainly responsible for supporting the delivery of sustainability initiatives in the areas of circular economy, internal capacity building and disclosures. You will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in ensuring the effective and smooth functioning of the Group Sustainability Department through coordination, data tracking and stakeholder support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and follow-up of sustainability initiatives and pilots across areas such as waste and plastics reduction, internal training and engagement and related operational projects, including liaising with business units, subsidiaries and regional teams
- Provide structured support to sustainability data tracking and systems, including maintaining internal tools, updating relevant platforms, compiling process documentation and coordinating data inputs from stakeholders
- Support compliance and assurance activities by assisting with data preparation for sustainability indices, certifications and audits
- Support internal and external sustainability communications by assisting with content creation, material coordination and updates to sustainability-related communication assets
- Provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support to the General Manager and the Group Sustainability Department to ensure smooth operation and supports cross-departmental initiatives
- Help coordinate and prepare materials for key meetings, events, workshops and training sessions
- Provide administrative and coordination support for cross-departmental initiatives and the broader Group Sustainability Department
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in sustainability, circular economy, climate change, environmental management, aviation and/or relevant disciplines
- Proven ability to follow up with multiple stakeholders across different functions and locations, demonstrating good organisation, prioritisation and coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle data, documentation and process tracking accurately and consistently
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to support day-to-day execution and see tasks through to completion
- Strong interest in and sound understanding in sustainability, environmental and climate-related topics and its relevance to the commercial sector, with an eagerness to learn and contribute to practical sustainability initiatives
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and drive collective progress in a team environment
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage
