Johnson Service Group is looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer to help with construction project coordination.
The position is fully on-site in San Jose, CA.
This person will assist with coordination, documentation, and oversight activities to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and in compliance with applicable standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing and responding to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals, including coordinating with the Engineer of Record (EOR) and consultants
- Support field verification and data collection of plant system components
- Track permits and assist with ensuring regulatory compliance
- Participate in the review and evaluation of construction change order requests
- Assist with procurement and acquisition of supplies and services
- Review consultant monthly invoices and progress reports for accuracy and completeness
- Support public relations and stakeholder communication efforts as needed
- Prepare meeting materials, including presentations, agendas, meeting notes, and action item tracking
- Provide general project coordination and administrative support to the project team
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of professional engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related engineering field
OR possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience
- Valid CA drivers license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam Revu
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment
6 month contract $44.62/hr.
