Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Cost Control Specialist to support
project cost tracking,
forecasting, and
financial reporting to ensure accurate project performance and stakeholder alignment.
Must Have Skills
- 2+ years experience with project cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Experience with Field Operations
- Thorough understanding of Distribution Operations procedures and policies.
- Thorough knowledge of various computer software programs including spreadsheet and word processor
- Advanced working knowledge of related Microsoft Office software, company financial systems, enterprise structure and standard operating procedures, etc.
- Related university degree
Nice to Have Skills
- Project Management Professional designation, AACE certification, and/or Professional Engineering designation
- Oil & Gas industry experience
Responsibilities
- Perform daily and weekly project cost tracking and reconciliation in line with established processes
- Review, code, and track invoices to ensure accurate cost allocation
- Maintain and update cost trackers using SAP/Oracle, purchase orders, invoices, and vendor data
- Identify and resolve cost discrepancies in a timely manner
- Execute monthly accruals and affiliate billings
- Provide variance analysis and detailed financial reporting
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders and management
- Track scope changes and maintain accurate change logs
- Ensure adherence to sanctioned cost control processes across all projects
- Capture and analyze data for benchmarking and continuous improvement
- Coordinate weekly Project Controls meetings and document minutes
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Provide regular updates to management on project financial status
- Support documentation, compliance, and project control standards
- Adapt cost control strategies based on evolving project requirements
