Role Introduction
Reports to: Portfolio Solution Manager - Cathay Subsidiary Services
You will be part of the Information Technology Department (IMT), seated within the Cathay Subsidiary Services (CSS) unit, the centralised support function providing subject matter expertise to our subsidiaries, including Cathay Dining, Cathay Cargo Terminal, HAS by Cathay, and Vogue Laundry.
You will focus on delivering and supporting software applications aligned with business vision, covering both solution delivery and in‑production application support.
You will gain exposure to end‑to‑end solution design, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise IT operations in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to conceptualise, assess and propose solution approaches aligned with business objectives
- Challenge and validate business assumptions to support effective execution of business plans
- Elicit, analyse and document business and system requirements from a holistic system perspective
- Support solution design by contributing expertise to high‑level and detailed design decisions
- Translate requirements into functional and technical specifications and contribute to technical documentation
- Perform task, workflow, gap, risk and constraint analysis and recommend practical solutions
- Contribute to business case preparation and participate in application development where required
- Provide application support for in‑production systems, acting as a key contact for incidents and service requests
- Coordinate incident, problem and user request management with service desk, IT teams and vendors, ensuring clear communication and expectation management
- Support system enhancements through planning, testing, rollout, hypercare, and collaboration across IT domains while following development standards and industry best practices
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Information Technology, Business or a related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of relevant IT experience
- Proven experience applying software engineering best practices and structured analysis techniques
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders across regions and cultures
- Experience supporting system enhancements including testing, UAT coordination, rollout and hypercare support
- Basic technical knowledge of enterprise applications and infrastructure concepts, including Windows, networking fundamentals, authentication and APIs
- Strong ability to communicate ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical audience and solid troubleshooting skills with a structured and analytical approach
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skill and proven ability to coordinate across multiple IT teams and vendors
- Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
