We are now recruiting for an experienced Purchaser to join our Supply Team at our Farnborough Maintenance site to ensure competent quality execution of all routine and non-routine (AOG) purchasing duties, maintaining complete updated purchasing records and pricing.
Your Responsibilities
This role will be reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, as part of the Supply Chain Team.
- Responsible for all purchasing duties and associated administration, including complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
- Co-ordinating with Production and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for aircraft inputs.
- Handling and monitoring claims to vendors for defectives, shortages and missing parts.
- Supporting the Commercial team and Customer Service Engineers with pricing for the purpose of quotations.
- Managing, monitoring and co-ordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of all orders.
- Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with Company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting the Supply Chain Manager in sourcing, selecting and negotiating the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
- Purchasing and issuing order in accordance to specification.
- Co-ordinating part number validation with the Planning Engineers.
- Supporting and assisting the Supply Chain Manager in planning, receipt and managing inventory levels of materials.
- Updating the Customer Support Manager with relevant information pertaining to the Customer(s) aircraft and maintenance activity.
- Liaising with various bodies to ensure that the vendor base are approved e.g.Quality.
- Assisting the Supply Chain Manager in preparing and managing the budget/costs associated with delivery the plan.
- Delivering objectives and projects as defined by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Supporting the production and development of all relevant MOE procedures and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring Company systems are updated and maintained appropriately.
- Adhering to the Company’s Environmental Health and Safety policy.
- Supporting the Supply Chain Manager in producing and distributing relevant daily/monthly management information and KPI’s for the Supply Chain Team.
- Responsible for responding to allocated NCR’s relating to Purchasing.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Ensuring all shipping conforms to Department for Transport shipping regulations.
- Ensuring that all parts, materials and tools are dispatched with the correct documentation to permit receipt into the stores systems.
- Supporting the production, distribution and maintenance of the COSHH register.
- Supporting and maintains the requirements of the Importation regime for imports under the company’s VAT number as appropriate to include IPR for civil aircraft parts and certificate of airworthiness including all taxation matters and reporting.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Previous experience in an Aviation Purchasing environment.
- Working knowledge of Customs & Excise requirements, shipping processes, and logistics processes.
- Working knowledge of Part-145.
- Ability to work well under pressure, managing varying demands and workloads.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- Understanding of EH&D practices and policies.
- Commercial awereness, ability to analyse statistics and identify trends.
To be successful in this role, you must be willing to work shifts 7am-7pm 5/4 rota.
This position requires Full UK driving licence.
