Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our team based in Ahmedabad, India as Business Continuity & Resilience Specialist.
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving GBS’s Business Continuity and operational resilience framework. Ensuring effective respond to and recover from disruptions by coordinating Business Impact Assessments, maintaining Business Continuity Plans , and driving preparedness activities across all critical processes. Driving readiness and regular maintenance of ISO 22301 certification. Engages cross functional stakeholders across Doha and CDC locations to ensure business continuity ownership, testing, and operational readiness are embedded into day to day planning and long term business continuity objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, review, and annual update of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Business Impact Assessments (BIA) for all GBS functions to ensure CDC compliance with the Business Continuity lifecycle;
- Coordinate risk assessments and identify operational vulnerabilities in CDC to strengthen organizational resilience.
- Maintain documentation and version control of BCP plans, ensuring alignment with corporate templates and governance requirements.
- Testing, Exercises & Assurance: Plan and execute BCP drills, scenario tests, and recovery simulations for GBS CDC teams to validate readiness and verify continuity capabilities Track and document test outcomes, lessons learned, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
- Operational Resilience & Crisis Response Support: Provide support during incidents affecting operations (loss of staff, IT outage, facility disruption) to facilitate coordination with the Crisis Management & Business Continuity team. Serve as the focal point for BCP escalations, ensuring timely communication and activation of recovery strategies.
- Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Support readiness, planning and maintenance for ISO 22301 certification for CDC to achieve alignment with QR’s enterprise risk and resilience objectives. Coordinate with Enterprise Risk, IT, Compliance teams, and other control functions to ensure BC alignment with regulatory or governmental requirements.
- Stakeholder Management & Training: Work with business units across Doha and CDC to ensure BC ownership, timely BIA updates, and training of BC Champions. Deliver awareness sessions, guides, and communication materials to embed continuity discipline into the GBS culture.
- Documentation, Reporting & Insights: Maintain central repositories of BC documents, BIA submissions, and action trackers. Prepare periodic BC dashboards and reports for senior leadership, summarizing readiness status, risks, and mitigation progress. Ensure that in performance of the role, all uses, disclosures and requests of any information (in any form) are done in accordance with data protection principles adopted by the QR Group and are limited to what is reasonably required to accomplish the intended business purposes of the use, disclosure or request.

Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job related experience
- Qualification in Business, Risk, Operations or related discipline
- Experience in business continuity, operational risk, crisis management, or resilence roles
- Strong knowledge of BIA/BCP methodologies, resilence frameworks and recovery strategies
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders in high stakes operational environments
- Exposure to ISO 22301, shared services environments or multi-site operations
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent coordination, facilitation, and communication skills
