Basic Qualifications
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Experience in event coordination, administrative support, or a related field.
- Proficiency with event management platforms such as Cvent and project management tools such as AirTable.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
- Ability to travel domestically in support of launches, ceremonies, and conferences.
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

What does this role look like?
➥ The Protocol & Events Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day execution of events, Customer engagement activities, and protocol functions for the Lockheed Martin Space Protocol & Events team.
➥ This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
➥ The ideal candidate brings a team-first mindset, strong organizational instincts, and a commitment to delivering high-quality experiences for internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and government partners.
In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
Event Planning & Logistics
- Support end-to-end event coordination including venue research, set-up, tear-down, and on-site logistics for ceremonies, conferences, launches, and customer engagements
- Prepare and manage event registration through platforms such as Cvent, ensuring accurate attendee tracking and a seamless guest experience
- Develop and maintain event project timelines, run-of-show documents, and operational checklists using Airtable or similar project management tools
- Coordinate production of event materials including name tags, table tents, signage, and printed collateral
- Liaise with venue contacts, vendors, and internal teams to ensure all logistical details are confirmed and executed on time
Customer Relations
- Coordinate visitor scheduling and access, working closely with campus security to ensure a smooth and secure arrival experience
- Support the lead Protocol team member during high-visibility events including launches, government ceremonies, and executive-level conferences and visits
Administrative & Financial Operations
- Candidate will provide administrative assistance to the protocol and event management team
- Will help process and reconcile expense reports for the Protocol & Events team in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage procurement of office supplies and event materials, maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Maintain and distribute the weekly events calendar to relevant internal stakeholders
- Manage the distribution, tracking, and reconciliation of tickets for employee engagement
Gifts & Recognition
- Research, source, and procure official gifts and recognition items aligned with protocol standards and company guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of gift inventory, distribution, and compliance documentation
Technology & Systems
- Utilize event management platforms including Cvent for registration, attendee management, and post-event reporting
- Leverage Airtable to manage event data, build trackers, and streamline team workflows and communications
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of event registration microsites and digital event assets
Desired Skills
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
- Prior experience supporting protocol, executive events, or government/defense environments.
- Familiarity with Space customers such as NASA, Space Force.
- Experience managing ticketing programs or corporate hospitality assets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms.
- CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) certification or working toward certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.
