Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Category Specialist to manage operational ordering activities, to maintain primary products and supplier databases and to execute supply chain arrangements within of a large international company. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in operational procurement, data management experience and will have a structured analytical mindset to drive cost-effective solutions and enhance operational efficiency. A knowledge of procurement of various type of equipment (GSE, MHE, Security Equipment) as well as prior exposure in international logistics is a distinctive advantage.
Job Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders for Ground Support Equipment on behalf of all subsidiaries of Swissport International AG.
- Liaise with suppliers on timely manufacturing of the equipment.
- Maintain global database of GSE orders.
- Communicate production and logistics related updates to the relevant internal stakeholders.
- Implement periodic RFIs/RFPs/RFQs processes for international multimodal transportation.
- Maintain market and product knowledge; observe market tendencies in international logistics.
- Negotiate contracts on a global scale for assigned categories.
- Analyse data to identify sourcing/saving initiatives and create a global structure within the category portfolio.
- Carry out category spend and provide analytics related to GSE and logistics spend.
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Set-up KPIs and monitor service levels to ensure compliance and uninterrupted availability.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to build consensus and alignment for sourcing projects.
- Manage costs (should-cost models, cost reductions, value creation, etc.) and drive savings.
- Set rules of engagement with divisions/country organizations (incl. subsequent control of compliance)
- Provide support and guidance to Procurement colleagues on Ad-Hoc basis.
Qualifications And Competencies
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Procurement, Business, Economics, Supply Chain or equivalent
- 2-4 years’ experience in the relevant field and management of similar categories
- Demonstrated expertise in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Procurement
- Prior exposure to international multimodal logistics and understanding of the customs clearance process.
- Experience in delivering year-to-year cost savings and driving cost reduction and change projects.
- Excellent social & communication skills – able to clearly articulate position in a complex organization
- Data driven and structured mindset with solid analytical skills.
- Down-to-earth work attitude, hands-on mentality
- Advance use of MS Excel
- Understanding of how to work in cross functional teams in matrix organization.
- English skills at business level (written and spoken) are a must, any additional language is an advantage.
